Discipline Plan




Grantham Elementary School uses a paw system as a part of our Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) framework.  Each student can earn 3 paws per day for displaying appropriate behavior. At the end of the nine weeks, students will be able to attend a celebration for different lengths of time based on the number of paws that the student earned each nine weeks. Each student will have a clip and can move their clip up our paw board at 10:35, 12:55, and 2:15 (beginning, middle, and end of the day). If your child has earned 3 paws for the day, he/she will color all three green squares on their behavior sheet.  If your child earned 2 paws, he/she will have a blue square on the behavior sheet.  If your child earned 1 paw for the day, he/she will color a purple square on the behavior sheet.  If your child did not earn a paw for the day, he/she will color a brown square on the behavior sheet.  The goal is to earn 3 paws.  If your child does not earn 3 paws that indicates that we had to correct your child.  Please understand that we give your child 2 warnings before a child can’t earn a paw. We will also document the behavior if your child was not able to earn 2-3 paws.
